The Xi Beta chapter has used the pillar of service to help impact the community of Southfield and its neighboring areas. This has been possible through service events such as.
These events not only allow us to do our part for the betterment of the community, but also allow us to promote the field of engineering. Through participating in these service events, we help to better ourselves as members of the community and as engineers. One of the main purposes of an engineer is to understand the needs of others and to give their best to help improve the world in which man lives. The pillar of service is Xi Beta’s way of focusing on the bigger picture. By stepping away from our studies, we can give back to the communities in which we live. Through service, we are given a broader perspective of the world, seeing the issues mankind faces today and how we can help aid in the solution. For this semester, we hope to increase the number of service opportunities available to brothers. This is due to the variety of majors that are seen throughout the chapter. Each major has its own way of giving back to the community, and we hope to utilize this fact to inspire our members to be the best they can in their respective fields.
